Who We Are

St. Raphael CCW (Council of Catholic Women) is an affiliate ofthe NCCW (National Council of Catholic Women).

Mission Statement

The National Council of Catholic Women acts through its membership to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality,

 leadership, and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the church and society of the modern world.



Membership is open to any Catholic woman in good standing. When you join us you also become a member of the Venice Diocesan Council of

Catholic Women, Northern Deanery, and the National Council of Catholic Women. NCCW is a nationwide organization with over 4,000 affiliates representing

millions of Catholic women. NCCW has been serving Catholic women for over 90 years. The NCCW is a member of World Union of Catholic Womenís

organization and is recognizedby the United States conference of Catholic Bishops.


What We Do

We promote a variety of programs and projects that enable each member to lead or participate as she chooses. We maintain an atmosphere of service,

leadership, spirituality, and sociability.

*Monthly Wednesday Mass prior to monthly business meeting

*Good fellowship and an opportunity to make new friends

*Card parties

*Craft group

*Prayer shawl ministry

*Mission group-rosary makers, bandage rollers

*Altar/church mission

*Packages to the troops

*Charity walks

*Fund raising activities: craft and bake sales, rummage sales, bus trips, plays, concerts,

*Collaboration with:† †VDCCW, NCCW, and Catholic Charities through conferences, conventions, sales programs, and leadership workshops

*Provide parish financial support

*Participate in Deanery programs

*Host parish receptions

*Assist women and children through support of pregnancy crisis centers, SOLVE, domestic violence shelters, and anti- human trafficking efforts

*Relief services such as Water for Life, The Madonna Plan, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Franciscan Missions, Hugs for the Homeless,

*FISH of Englewood

*Adrian Dominican Sisters

*Gladys Fox Seminary Fund

*Monsignor Evans Scholarship Fund


How We Work

Meetings are the second Wednesday of the month, (Oct.-May). Mass is at 8:30 followed by a continental breakfast at 9:00 and the business

meeting at 9:30 in the Niles Gillen Center.

St. Raphael CCW; works on a committee structure in conjunction with the NCCW mission statement.

SPIRITUALITY; promotes programs to create a community of Godís people who are educated and dynamic in their faith.

LEADERSHIP; gives support to the membership through public relations, training, organization, and personal development for women.

SERVICE; involves members in answering the needs of our own communities in programs that effect the lives and well being of all.

LEGISLATION; provides information about legislative and social responsibility.
